60 QUORUM LIST

In an earlier blog post (February 22nd) there was a letter from Suman Wong at the Transport Department confirming that HKRI would be required to restore their controls to prevent taxis entering Discovery Bay.
It is therefore shocking to see the following notice from the Transport Department, especially as there is no explanation provided.

I am aware that some residents are continuing to complain to the police, although obviously under the temporary condition there can be no fine. This was helping to maintain control even without the barrier..

In the past our District Councillor would have made enquiries to find out the reason for this relaxation. Hillgrove Village has been strongly against the introduction of taxis into the DB transport system. My fear is that we will see a declaration in due course to say that the taxis proved to be popular with residents and prohibition will be lifted. All owners who do not share this view should write directly to the Transport Department.
